CANDABA, Pampanga — Police are hunting down two unidentified suspects who broke into a barangay hall in this town and stole equipment and appliances worth an estimated P39,500.
A report to Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Jess Mendez stated that the robbery occurred at around 7 p.m. on November 1 at the village hall of Bgy. Barit.
According to barangay chairwoman Violeta Reyes Maglanque, the suspects arrived on a motorcycle and entered the premises through an unlocked restroom window at the back of the building.
Once inside, the suspects took an Astron television set worth P10,500, a public address amplifier valued at P20,000, a Motolite battery for the barangay patrol vehicle worth P7,500, and a stand fan valued at P1,500.
The suspects fled through the barangay hall’s main door, along with the stolen items.
An investigation showed the suspects unplugged the central processing unit of the building’s CCTV system, preventing the surveillance cameras from capturing their escape.
Personnel of the Candaba Municipal Police Station headed by Lt. Col. Jan Carl N. Gopez are conducting follow-up investigations to identify and arrest the thieves.
