A POLICE officer on Friday shot dead one of the house burglars who tried to shoot him in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga.
Pampanga police director Col. Jay Dimaandal, in a report to Police Regional Office (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo, identified the fatality as alias “Nick,” 36, a driver-cum-robber residing in Bgy. Malino, City of San Fernando.
An investigation showed that alias “Nick” and a cohort climbed the fence of a house in Malinoville, Bgy. Malino.
Neighbors Antonio Zabat, 56, and his son, Patrolman Ray Lemuel, 29, saw the two men scaling the fence and entered the house by forcibly opening the main door using tools.
The cop responded and went to the house where the two suspects were still inside.
The policeman made noises that rattled the suspects, who immediately left the house with the loot.
The suspects were climbing down the gate when the cop tried to apprehend them but one of the thieves attempted to pull out a gun, prompting the officer to shoot him.
The suspect fell on the ground and died on the spot while his cohort was able to escape and is being hunted.
