FOLLOWING the deadly SCTEX toll plaza crash, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) on Friday announced that two drivers from the Solid North bus company tested positive for drugs.
The result came following the mandatory drug testing conducted by the LTO on all drivers of Solid North Bus Inc..
According to LTO, those who tested positive will be subjected to confirmatory tests, and may face perpetual revocation of their license and other criminal charges.
Meanwhile, the bus company’s units were also subjected to testing at the LTO’s motor vehicle inspection center in Zambales, wherein 46 out of 276 buses were found to be compliant with roadworthiness standards.
The measures were implemented to ensure the safety of passengers, after one of Solid North Bus Inc.’s units was involved in the fatal Labor Day road crash in SCTEX, leaving at least 10 people dead.
Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon said the government is committed to uphold President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directives to ensure safety and convenience of the commuting public.
