THE Department of Energy (DOE) on Monday announced a big-time oil price hike starting Tuesday, July 21, 2026.
In an online briefing, DOE Secretary Sharon Garin said the increase in pump prices was due to the impact of the ongoing crisis in the Middle East.
Garin said the Energy Department is in continued talks with oil firms to provide staggered price hikes for public utility vehicle drivers and operators.
According to the DOE, the maximum permitted price adjustments for the week starting July 21, are as follows:
Gasoline: Up to P3.65 per liter
Diesel: Up to P10.68 per liter
Kerosene: Up to P11.77 per liter
Meanwhile, Garin also announced that the government continues to implement the fuel subsidy program for PUV drivers who are qualified for the discounted fuel program, noting that this is what the government has control of the situation amid the impact of renewed tensions between the US and Iran.
