A BUSINESSMAN on Wednesday was killed in an ambush in Bongabon, Nueva Ecija.
Slain was Ronald Lazaro, a 45-year-old quarry operator, and a resident of Bgy. Platero, General Natividad, Nueva Ecija.
Based on a report submitted to Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Penones Jr. by the Nueva Ecija police, the victim was driving his vehicle when an unidentified suspect on a motorcycle fired shots, killing the trader on the spot.
The ambush occurred on a riverbank at a quarry site in Bgy. Lusok at 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
The gunman fled after the killing.
Authorities are investigating the motive for the slaying, including a possible business rivalry.
