LLANERA, Nueva Ecija — Joint operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Nueva Ecija Provincial Field Unit and the Llanera police arrested two suspected gunrunners in a buy-bust operation at Purok 2 in Bgy. Mabini, this municipality.
CIDG Regional Field Unit 3 chief Col. Grant Gollod said the operation was carried out under “Oplan Paglalansag Omega,” a flagship project of the CIDG targeting illegal firearms and ammunition.
Gollod identified the arrested suspects as alias “Noli,” 45, of Bgy. Panacsac, General Natividad, Nueva Ecija; and alias “Dici,” 35, a security guard, and resident of Bgy. Estrella, Rizal, Nueva Ecija.
Confiscated from the suspects were one Shooters 12-gauge shotgun, one magazine assembly for a 12-gauge shotgun, four rounds of live ammunition, a unit of Armscor 12-gauge shotgun, and the marked and boodle money.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 also known as the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition were filed against the arrested suspects.
The CIDG RFU3 chief reaffirmed the public on their commitment to intensifying operations against illegal firearms to ensure public safety and security in the region.
