A MAGNITUDE 6.7 earthquake on Wednesday struck Davao Oriental, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
Phivolcs said the epicenter of the tremor was about 47 kilometers southeast of Manay town.
It was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 42 kilometers.
Intensity 2 was felt in Davao City and instrumental intensity level 4 was noted in Malungon, Sarangani.
Phivolcs said aftershocks and damage are expected and advised residents in nearby areas to stay alert and follow safety protocols.
