A GUN ban will be strictly enforced from July 30 to September 13, 2026 in Dasmariñas City in connection with the upcoming 2026 Special Election in the 4th district of Cavite.
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) Region IV-A, in an advisory, said carrying firearms and other deadly weapons outside the home is strictly prohibited during the election period, unless one possesses an official exemption or authorization from the Comelec and other relevant authorities.
According to the Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO), anyone caught violating the gun ban could be arrested and face appropriate charges in accordance with existing laws.
The public is also reminded to carry all necessary documents and permits when authorized to transport or move firearms, to cooperate with police at checkpoints and during inspections, and to immediately report any suspicious activity or gun ban violations to the nearest police station.
The strict enforcement of the gun ban aims to maintain peace and order during the special election in Dasmariñas City and to ensure that citizens can vote safely and peacefully.
