SWIFT POLICE PROBE LEADS TO SURRENDER OF ALLEGED ‘BRAINS’ IN MURDER OF BULACAN TEACHER

CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga — A speedy investigation by the Santa Maria Municipal Police Station led to the voluntary surrender of the alleged mastermind in the killing of a former barangay secretary and teacher in Santa Maria, Bulacan.

According to the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3), the suspect surrendered to authorities at the Santa Maria Municipal Police Station after reportedly learning that he had been identified by the victim before his death.

Victim Stephen, 38, a former barangay secretary and a teacher, died from multiple gunshot wounds sustained in the attack.

Probers said the teacher made a dying declaration while undergoing medical treatment, identifying the person he believed was responsible for the shooting.

Acting on the victim’s statement, police immediately intensified their case build-up, evidence gathering, and documentation, which eventually resulted in the voluntary surrender of the suspect.

PRO3 director Brig. Gen. Jess B. Mendez commended the responding police officers and investigators for their professionalism and dedication in handling the case.

“This development reflects the commitment of our police personnel to conduct swift, impartial, and evidence-based investigations. We remain resolute in ensuring that justice is served while upholding the rule of law and respecting the rights of all parties involved,” Mendez said.

He added that guided by PRO3’s commitment to “Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman,” the regional police force will continue working tirelessly to protect communities and strengthen public trust in the Philippine National Police (PNP).
