CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga — Police arrested within 13 hours after the crime a man accused of robbing a Korean businessman in Angeles City, Pampanga.
Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Jess Mendez said the swift arrest of the suspect was a result of the coordinated operation under the regional police’ JBM “Kuyog System.”
The robbery occurred in a lodging establishment in Bgy. Balibago, Angeles City.
Members of the Angeles City Police Station 4, together with the Angeles City Intelligence Unit, Angeles City Investigation and Detection Management Unit, Regional Special Operations Group 3, Regional Intelligence Division 3 and Regional Investigation and Detection Management Division 3, immediately launched follow-up and hot pursuit operations under the supervision of Angeles City police director Col. Robert Domingo.
Using closed-circuit television footage, witness accounts and intelligence information, the operatives identified and tracked down one of the suspects.
On the same day, the suspect was arrested at his residence in Bgy. Amsic, Angeles City.
Confiscated were a Glock .40-caliber pistol with ammunition, a hand grenade, clothing allegedly worn during the robbery, a motorcycle believed to have been used as a getaway vehicle, and the victim’s cellular phone and bag.
Mendez said the operation demonstrated the effectiveness of the JBM “Kuyog System,” which promotes coordination and information-sharing among police units.
“The JBM ‘Kuyog System’ is about making sure our units move together. When intelligence, investigation, and operating teams share information early and act on it immediately, we can respond faster and limit the room for suspects to escape,” Mendez said.
He added that the operation supports the PNP Focused Agenda of PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., particularly its emphasis on intelligence-led law enforcement, crime prevention, risk management and responsive police service.
The official stressed that the police would continue pursuing leads to locate the remaining suspect and determine the full circumstances of the robbery.
PRO3 also reaffirmed its commitment to protecting Filipino communities and foreign nationals living in, working in or visiting Central Luzon, particularly in urban and tourism-oriented areas such as Angeles City.
