MORE than P9-billion worth of seized dangerous drugs on Thursday was destroyed at the Integrated Waste Management Incorporated (IWMI) facility in Bgy. Aguado, Trece Martires City, Cavite.
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) officer-in charge Assistant Secretary Renato Gumban, Undersecretary Earl Saavedra of the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) and Calabarzon police chief Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas led the destruction of the illegal drugs.
A total of 2,435,619,.8626 grams of illegal drugs were destroyed through thermal decomposition composed of 1.293,934.2149 grams of shabu, 720,898.6564 grams of marijuana and 359,752 grams of ephedrine.
Also destroyed were the 1.2 tons of shabu seized at a checkpoint in Bgy. Pinagkurusan, Alitagtag, Batangas on April 15, 2024.
The destruction of the seized illegal drugs was witnessed by representatives from the Department of Justice (DOJ), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), PNP-Cavite and other law enforcement agencies, non-government organizations and city and village officials of Bgy Bgy. Aguado.
