FASHION icon and actress Heart Evangelista on Wednesday took her oath as the new President of the Senate Spouses Foundation Inc. (SSFI).
Her husband, Senate President Chiz Escudero, led the oathtaking held at the Senate building on Wednesday morning.
Heart replaced Audrey Tan-Zubiri following the change in Senate leadership from Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri to Escudero.
“I am honored to stand before you as the new President of the Senate Spouses Foundation Inc. I am grateful for the support and ready to work together to uplift our communities,” Heart, in her speech, said.
She emphasized continuing the legacy of service inspired by her predecessors.
“Their stories of service encourage me to make a difference and inspire others to improve lives around us,” she said.
Heart called for collective effort and support.
“With your support, I am bravely taking on these duties. It is inspiring to see what we can accomplish together. Maraming salamat po!,” she said.
Along with Heart, the following also took their oath of office: Kathryna Pimentel as vice president, Maricel Tulfo as secretary, Neil Llamanzares as assistant secretary, Rep. Lani Mercado as treasurer, Underscertary Emmeline Villar as legal counsel and Marielle Padilla and Nancy dela Rosa as PROs.
