2 CHINESE  MEN NABBED, 13 RESCUED IN RAID AT SUSPECTED POGO HUB IN PAMPANGA

TWO Chinese nationals on Tuesday were arrested while 13 others were rescued in a raid at a suspected Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) hub in Mabalacat City, Pampanga.

The raid, which was conducted inside a subdivision in Clark Freeport Zone in Mabalacat City, was part of the continuing anti-human trafficking operations by the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection.

According to PNP-CIDG director Maj. General Leo M. Francisco, arrested were alias “Tiago” and alias “Tian Zhu.”

The arrests were made based on seven search warrants for violation of Republic Act 9208 or the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003 as amended by RA 10364 or The Expanded Human Trafficking Act of 2012 issued by Guagua, Pampanga Judge Amor Dimatatac-Romero.

Francisco said the arrests were in line with the directive of PNP chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil to further intensify our campaign against illegal recruitment and trafficking of migrant workers.

Recovered during the simultaneous raids inside Clark Freeport Zone were several vaults, various foreign currencies, including P167,400 in cash, assorted documents, computer sets, cellphones and other gadgets.

Meanwhile, the rescued 13 other Chinese nationals, two of them females and three minors, are now under the custody of the PNP-CIDG .
