THE political rivalry between the Nograleses and the Dutertes revived with the filing of certificate of candidacy (CoC) from both families challenging each other.
Puwersa ng Bayaning Atleta (PBA) partylist Rep. Margarita Ignacia “Migs” Nograles filed her COC for the first congressional district of Davao City at 9:13 a.m. on Tuesday, October 8.
Nograles, daughter of the late House Speaker Prospero “Boy” Nograles, is vying for the seat in the upcoming May 2025 elections.
She is challenging incumbent Davao City 1st district Rep. Paolo Duterte, the son of former President Rodrigo Duterte.

Her brother, attorney Karlo Nograles is running for mayor of Davao City.
Karlo will challenge the former President, who likewise filed his COC for Davao City mayor.
Karlo, who resigned as chairperson of the Commission on Civil Service (CSC), is running as an independent candidate.
