A MAGNITUDE 5.9 earthquake on Tuesday afternoon jolted Occidental Mindoro.
The tremor, which occurred at 4:23 p.m. Tuesday, was also felt in some parts of Luzon, including Metro Manila.
According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), the epicenter of the quake was seven kilometers southeast of Lubang town.
It was of tectonic origin and had a depth of 79 kilometers.
Phivolcs said aftershocks may occur but no damage is expected.
Last Saturday, a magnitude 7.4 earthquake hit Hinatuan town in Surigao del Sur.
