Ibinasura ng Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office ang reklamong grave threats na isinampa ni ACT Teachers Party-list Rep. France Castro laban kay dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.
Sa isang resolusyon na may petsang Enero 9, 2024, sinabi ng prosekutor na walang sapat na ebidensiya para kasuhan sa korte si Duterte.
Ayon sa resolusyon , hindi napatunayan ng kampo ni Castro na direktang nagbanta ang dating pangulo sa sinasabing mga televised at livestreamed program ni Duterte sa SMNI.
“Duterte ‘would have just directly and immediately pronounced the threats’ if he wanted to intimidate Castro. Instead, Duterte uttered the supposed threat in between side stories, ‘sarcastic’ jokes and banter with the program host,” anang resolusyon.
“Besides, the office finds it quite unusual, if not ridiculous for a person to make public pronouncement of death threats…especially so considering that such individual, like the respondent, is already in an advance age and not anymore immune from criminal prosecution,” saad pa sa desisyon.
Matatandaang dalawang beses na hindi sinipot ni Duterte ang imbestigasyon sa nasabing reklamo ni Castro.
