THE province of Laguna has new police director in the person of Col. Gauvin Mel Unos.
Unos replaced outgoing Laguna Police Provincial Office (LPPO) director Col. Harold Depositar.
Unos and Depositar were both graduates of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) “Kabalikat” Class of 1998.
The turnover of command held at Camp General Paciano Rizal in Sta .Cruz, Laguna on Thursday was led by Deputy Regional Director for Administration (DRDA) Col. Aligre Martinez representing Police Regional Office 4A (Calabarzon) director Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas.
Present during the turnover rites were National Police Commission (Napolcom) provincial officer attorney Mia Quijano, Laguna Gov. Ramil Hernandez, chiefs of police from the six cities and the 26 towns of the province, and the staff members of the LPPO.
Unos was formerly assigned at the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Region 10. He also served as the chief of police of San Pedro City in Laguna.
The new Laguna top cop vowed to continue the programs of Depositar in maintaining peace and order in the province.
“Kung kinakailangan ituloy natin ang mga pinasimulan na ginawa ng ating outgoing provincial police director para sa mamayan ng Laguna, gagawin natin,” Unos said.
