THIEVES on Tuesday tunneled into a government office and ransacked all the money inside an automated teller machine of the Development Bank of the Philippines in Gerona Tarlac.
According to a report submitted to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr. by the Tarlac police, Evengeline Querijero, 58, representative of the DBP-Tarlac branch, filed a complaint regarding the robbery incident.
Initial probe showed that DBM employee Jordan Caranto informed the Gerona police that the bank’s ATM in the premises of the DPWH 1st Engineering District office in Bgy. Parsolingan, Gerona, was divested of its cash.
The suspects gained entry by using the drainage canal near the DPWH office.
Once inside, the suspects destroyed the hinges of the automated teller machine and carted away an undetermined amount of money.
Police are checking the CCTV recordings in the area to identify the suspects and their getaway vehicle.
