SENATOR Robinhood “Robin” C. Padilla on Monday humbly extended his apologies to Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri and Sen. Ma. Lourdes “Nancy” Binay over the IV drip issue in his office last week.
In letters sent Monday afternoon to Zubiri and Binay, Padilla reiterated he regrets the issue that involved his wife Mariel Padilla.
“Kaugnay nito, nais ko pong ipahatid ang aking sinserong paghingi ng paumanhin kung ito ay nagdulot ng kagambalaan sa liderato ng Senado, sa ating mga iginagalang na kasamahan, at sa lahat ng bumubuo ng institusyon,” he said in his letter to Zubiri.
In a separate letter to Binay, Padilla reiterated that “kailanman ay hindi po namin sasadyain ang pagsasawalang-bahala sa dangal na sinisimbolo ng ating institusyon.
“Makakaasa po kayo sa aming palagiang pagtalima sa mga alituntunin ng Mataas na Kapulungan,” he added in his letter to Binay, who chairs the Senate Ethics and Privileges Committee.
Earlier, Padilla sent letters apologizing to Dr. Renato DG Sison, director of the Senate Medical and Dental Bureau; and (Ret) Lt. Gen. Roberto T. Ancan, the Senate sergeant-at-arms.
On Sunday, Mrs. Padilla also apologized to the public and to the Senate over the issue involving an IV drip in Sen. Padilla’s office. She also clarified that the drip was Vitamin C and not glutathione.
