THREE senior citizens on Sunday night died in a fire that razed their house in Taytay, Rizal.
Police said the victims were sisters who were trapped inside their burning house in Bgy. Dolores in Taytay.
The fire started around 9 p.m. on Sunday and quickly engulfed the entire house.
Lorna Valera, a relative of the victims, told police that two siblings were able to escape the raging blaze but they went back the burning house to rescue a sister who was a person with disability (PWD).
Firefighters were able to put out the fire in an hour but with difficulty.
“Nahirapan po ang mga bumbero natin kasi bawat tapak nila sa tubig at sa yero, nakukuryente po sila, pati rin po ako, kasi po kami ang mga first responder. ‘Yung wire nakadikit sa bakal,” BFP Taytay Fire Officer 1 John Randolph Baldonado said.
The BFP is investigating the cause of the fire.
