A MAGNITUDE 6.1 quake on Friday shook Davao Oriental.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the epicenter of the quake, which was felt at 5:11 p.m. on Friday, was 135 kms. southeast of Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental.
The quake was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 105 kms.
Intensity 4 was felt in Malungon, Sarangani; Sarangani and Don Marcelino in Davao Occidental; and Davao City.
Intensty 3 was recorded in Digos City, Sta. Cruz and Matanao in Davao del Sur; Tagum City, Davao del Norte; Nabunturan and Pantukan in Davao de Oro; Glan, Sarangani; Tupi and Koronadal City in South Cotabato; and Lutayan, Sultan Kudarat.
Phivolcs said aftershocks may occur.
There is no tsunami threat, Phivolcs added.
