A 7-YEAR-OLD girl reported missing on Sunday was found dead in a sack in General Santos City on Wednesday.
Victim Leah, not her real name, was found naked and stuffed in a sack in a remote area in Purok 9, Bgy. Conel in General Santos City.
A neighbor, who saw two sacks in a vacant lot, found the victim in one of the sacks.
According to the police, Leah could have been raped before she was killed.
“Sinakal ito ng t-shirt na we believe na isa sa cause of death niya is asphyxia. The thing is nung binuksan ‘yung sako, walang damit, hubo’t-hubad ‘yung biktima, so it is an indication na na-rape siya,” said General Santos City Station 9 police chief Maj. Robert Fores in a television interview.
Authorities are eyeing the victim’s 74-year-old neighbor as possible suspect in the gruesome crime.
A witness told police that on the day the victim disappeared, she was last seen entering the old man’s compound.
Probers found two bloodstained shirts and two knives at the back of the suspect’s house.
An investigation is underway.
