THE Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has advised motorists and the public that the expanded number coding scheme in Metro Manila will be suspended this Holy Week.
In an advisory, MMDA said the number coding suspension will take effect on the following dates:
- March 27, Holy Wednesday
- March 28, Maundy Thursday
- March 29, Good Friday
There is no number coding during Saturdays and Sundays.
The number coding scheme was lifted earlier than scheduled this Holy Week or instead of Maundy Thursday, March 28, number coding will be lifted starting March 27 or Holy Wednesday .
The MMDA updated its previous announcement in anticipation of a likely Holy Week travel rush after Malacanang announced that government work would be on a half day or only until noon on March 27.
