ALL commuters can ride for free at the LRT-2 during the ‘Araw ng Kagitingan’ on April 9.
The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA), in an advisory on Friday, said the free rides will be available to the public from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. during the day.
LRTA Administrator Hernando Cabrera said the free ride service is part of the LRTA’s participation and appreciation of the ‘Araw ng Kagitingan.’
“Isang pagpupugay po sa mga beterano at sa modern-day heroes lalo na po sa sektor ng transportasyon,” Cabrera said.
Earlier, both the LRT-2 and the MRT-3 announced week-long free rides to registered veterans plus one companion in celebration of the Philippine Veterans’ Week from April 5 to 11.
A valid Philippine Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO) identification card must be presented to station personnel to avail of the free rides for veterans.
