THREE Chinese nationals, including a woman, on Friday were arrested while another killed himself to avoid being caught by operatives in an operation in Angeles City, Pampanga.
Angeles City police director Col. Amado Mendoza Jr. reported to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr. that the fatality was Wu Fuwen, 38.
The arrested were Feng Zhengzheng, 29; Chou Yibo, 33; and Wang Yan, female, 25; all Chinese nationals residing at Zone 1, Phase 2, Blk. 36, Lot 4, Mansfield, Bgy. Sto. Domingo, Angeles City, Pampanga.
Operatives of the Angeles City police assisted the members of the Bureau of Immigration Fugitive Search Unit in the implementation of a mission order to arrest the suspects who were allegedly involved in kidnap-for-ransom activities.
Two of the Chinese nationals, including Fuwen, were overstaying in the country.
Police said they saw Fuwen, along with two other male individuals, exiting at the back of the house, in Mansfield, Bgy. Sto. Domingo, prompting them to give a chase.
Authorities were able to corner the suspects when Fuwen suddenly pulled out a gun and shot himself in the head.
He was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Confiscated during the operation were shabu worth P20,400, assorted party drugs, a cal. .380 gun loaded with six live bullets and one cal.45 pistol loaded with seven live ammunition.
The arrested Chinese nationals were brought to the Angeles City Police Station 1 for documentation and proper disposition.
