THE suspect behind the killing of an Australian couple and a Filipina companion in a posh hotel in Tagaytay City on Wednesday surrendered to the authorities.
Suspect, alias “Ronel,” 33, of Amadeo Cavite, said he wanted to retaliate against the management of Lake Hotel in Tagaytay City for firing him.
The victims were couple David James Fisk and Lucita Cortez, and Mary Jane Cortez, their Filipina companion
In a report, Lt. Col. Charles Daven Capagcuan, chief of police at the Tagaytay Component City Police Station, said the suspect surrendered to Mayor Jey Cerrado of Tuy, Batangas.
“Ronel” hid in Tuy after the crime.
The Tuy mayor turned over the suspect to Tagaytay City Mayor Abraham Tolentino, who then gave him to the police authorities.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the suspect took revenge against the hotel management for his termination from employment, which led to the killing of the victims, Capagcuan said in the report.
The suspect further said that he randomly barged into the victims’ room last week because its window was open.
“Ronel” is now under the custody of the Tagaytay Component City Police Station for filing of appropriate charges.
