THE House of Representatives on Wednesday finished renovations of its physical facilities ahead of the third State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on July 22.
Committee on Accounts chairperson Rep. Yedda Marie Romualdez and Tingog Party-list Rep. Jude Acidre joined Fr. Antonio “Tony” Labiao, rector and parish priest of the Novaliches Cathedral of the Archdiocese of Novaliches, as he led the blessing ceremony for various newly-built and renovated facilities at the House of Representatives.
“This blessing event was made to foster fellowship and the exchange of new and beautiful ideas in the House,” Fr. Labiao said.
The renovated facilities include the People’s Center, North Lobby, South Lobby, rear entrance to the main building and a new water refilling station. The HRep’s new shuttle buses were also sprinkled with holy water.
House Secretary General Reginald Velasco earlier announced that some 2,000 invitees and 47 ambassadors have confirmed their attendance for President Marcos’ third SONA.
