THE Bureau of Customs (BOC) – Port of Clark intercepted a shipment containing over P1.161 million worth of Methylenedioxymethamphetamine, commonly known as “Ecstasy,” concealed in a heating boiler.
The shipment, declared as “Central Heating Boiler,” originated from Germany and arrived at the Pork of Clark recently.
Unusual images were detected through detailed profiling and X-ray scanning by the BOC’s X-ray Inspection Project (XIP) inspectors.
A subsequent K-9 sniff test prompted a thorough physical examination, revealing 2.05 kilograms of Ecstasy hidden within the shipment.

The joint physical examination was conducted with representatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office 3, PNP Aviation Security Unit General Aviation, PNP Drug Enforcement Group 3, NBI Pampanga, and barangay officials of Dau, Mabalacat City.
Field testing by PDEA confirmed the presence of Methylenedioxymethamphetamine, classified as a dangerous drug under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Acknowledging the dedication shown by the Port of Clark agents, district collector Jairus Reyes remarked: “Through the continued and collective efforts of our agents, this remarkable success has been achieved. With this, a commendation is both fitting and well-deserved, as this establishes a strong foundation for the years ahead.”
A Warrant of Seizure and Detention was issued for the shipment for violations of Section 118(g), Section 119(d), and Section 1113 paragraphs f, i, and l (3 and 4) of Republic Act 10863 or the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA), in relation to RA 9165.
“This latest successful interception underscores our determination to safeguard our borders and uphold the safety of our citizens,” said Commissioner Bienvenido Y. Rubio.
“We remain resolute in collaborating with partner agencies to detect and neutralize threats, such as Ecstasy, that jeopardize the well-being of our nation,” he added.
