NATIONAL Police Commission (Napolcom) Calabarzon Regional Director attorney Owen G. De Luna (seated, center) on Friday led the awarding of the certificates of commendation to 17 highway patrol officers and men of the region held at Camp Vicente Lim in Calamba City, Laguna.
Among those given commendation were Col. Israel P. Mori, chief of the Regional Highway Patrol Unit 4A (Calabarzon), Maj. Bren Ian Salazar, PHPT Laguna Provincial Office head, and the 15 members of the Laguna Highway Patrol Unit.
The 17 highway patrol personnel were awarded for their exemplary performance in the line of duty following the arrest of alias “Ramil” for violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act and the Omnibus Election Code (gun ban) on April 29, 2025 in Bgy Batong Malake, Los Baños, Laguna.
According to Napolcom, the highway patrol officers and men deserved citation for intercepting illegal guns that helped in the safe, secure and peaceful conduct of midterm polls.
Also present during the awarding ceremony were Napolcom Calabarzon Assistant Regional Director attorney Mia Antonette Quijano, Napolcom Laguna provincial officer attorney Jocel Sopeña, RHPU assistant regional chief Lt. Col. Elmer Bao, and other highway patrol officers from Calabarzon.
