FISHERMEN on Thursday found some P952-M worth of suspected shabu on the coasts of Western Pangasinan and turned them over to the authorities.
According to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Pangasinan. the packs of suspected shabu were simultaneously recovered by fishermen on the coasts of Bolinao, Agno, and Bani towns.
Around 50kgs of the “poor man’s cocaine” were turned over to the authorities in Bgy. Balingasay, Bolinao, in coordination with the local government unit (LGU).
PDEA said fishers discovered two white sacks floating in the sea, which turned out to contain 50 vacuum-sealed packs with suspected illegal drugs inside worth around P340 million.
Another two white sacks and an empty sack were seen floating on the coast of Bgy. Balingasay also in Bolinao on the same day. The sacks contain a total of 42 vacuum-sealed packs containing suspected shabu, with a combined weight of 42kgs and worth P285.6 million.
In Bgy. Boboy in Agno town, three fishermen found two almost empty sacks and two white sacks with 21 vacuum-sealed packs of suspected shabu weighing 23 kgs worth P156.4 million.
Meanwhile, In Bgy. Olanen in Bani, another fisherman turned over to the authorities 24 vacuum-sealed packs of suspected shabu weighing 25 kgs and worth P170 million.
Authorities urged the public to surrender to the authorities any suspicious shipments, adding they are also verifying if the latest discovery had any connection with the “floating shabu” found by Bataan fishermen off the waters of Zambales.
