CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga — There were no casualties recorded in Central Luzon following the onslaught of Tropical Storm “Crising” based on the data from the Office of the Civil Defense (OCD), the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) on Thursday reported.
PRO3 director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Penones Jr. attributed the outcome to the timely activation of the Crisis Management and Incident Task Group (CMITG) and the coordinated response of concerned agencies and local government units.
While several low-lying and flood-prone areas in the region, particularly in Bataan, Bulacan, Pampanga and Zambales, experienced localized flooding, no fatalities or serious injuries have been reported as of press time.
The CMITG was immediately convened to oversee and implement a unified disaster preparedness and response strategy.
Proactive measures such as preemptive evacuations, deployment of personnel, and mobilization of resources helped minimize the storm’s impact on affected communities.
Penones commended the quick and collaborative actions of all agencies involved, emphasizing the PNP’s commitment to both public safety and humanitarian assistance.
“Although law and order remain the primary concern of the PNP during disasters, we also ensure the safety and welfare of our communities by actively supporting rescue, evacuation, and relief operations,” Penones said.
“Our preemptive efforts, combined with the close coordination of the CMITG and local government units, greatly contributed to the zero-casualty record in Central Luzon. We will remain on high alert and continue assisting affected residents,” he added.
PRO3 personnel are continuously deployed in various affected areas to assist in evacuation, manage traffic, and maintain order in evacuation centers and relief distribution sites.
Residents were advised to remain vigilant and adhere to advisories issued by their respective local disaster risk reduction and management offices, as weather disturbances may still develop.
