OPERATIVES of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agemcy (PDEA) on Sunday arrested a public school teacher accused of involvement in illegal drug trafficking in Negros Occidental.
Suspect alias “Joffel,” 42, was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Binalbagan town around 11:44 a.m. on Sunday.
Undercover officers from the PDEA Negros Island Region, with the help of the local police, launched the sting following reports of the teacher’s alleged illegal activities.
Seized were nine heat-sealed plastic sachets containing 25 grams of shabu worth P170,000 and the buy-bust money topped by a marked bill.
Authorities said the suspect will be facing non-bailable charges for sale and possession of prohibited drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
