TALAVERA, Nueva Ecija — Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Nueva Ecija Provincial Field Unit (PFU) on Friday arrested a 46-year-old man in a gun buy-bust operation in Bgy. Burnay, this town.
CIDG Regional Field Unit 3 chief Col. Grant A. Gollod identified the suspect as alias “Bahel,” a resident of the village.
“Bahel” was nabbed in an entrapment operation under the CIDG’s flagship program “Oplan Paglalansag Omega.”
Gollod said alias “Bahel” was arrested while handing over two unlicensed .9mm pistols with magazines and live ammunition in exchange for marked money from an undercover cop who acted as buyer.
Confiscated from the suspect were two 9mm pistols without serial numbers, two magazines for cal .9mm, six live rounds of ammunition, and the P1,000 marked money and 49 pieces of boodle money.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition were filed against the suspect.
