A 17-YEAR-OLD boy who was last seen driving a motorcycle was found drowned on Kalsadang Bayu in Bgy. Sta. Rita, Macabebe, Pampanga.
A report to Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Penones Jr. by the Pampanga police said the fatality was a resident of Pabahay Sto. Niño, Masantol.
A passerby noticed a male body floating in the water beside the road. The witness immediately informed the authorities.
Prior to the drowning, the victim was seen drinking with relatives in Masantol and later rode a motorcycle to buy snacks in Macabebe.
An initial investigation showed that while on his way home, the teenager lost control of the motorbike and fell into the deep water beside the roadway, where he drowned. His motorcycle was also found in the area.
The victim was rushed to the Macabebe District Hospital in Bgy. Batasan but was declared dead on arrival.
Investigators noted no signs of foul play and no missing personal belongings.
The boy’s father executed a waiver declining an autopsy.
Authorities remind motorists to exercise caution when traveling near waterways, especially in areas without protective barriers. They also advised riders not to drive when drunk.
