GOOD news to all household helpers in Metro Manila.
The Regional Tripartite Wage and Productivity Board-National Capital Region has approved Wage Order No. NCR-DW-06, granting an additional P800 pay hike in their salaries.
The pay increase will start next month.
According to the National Wages and Productivity Commission, the order will raise the monthly pay of “kasambahays” in Metro Manila from P7,000 to P7,800 per month effective Feb. 7 or after 15 days from the order’s publication.
Covered by the salary adjustment are general househelp, whether stay-in or live-out, yaya, cook, gardener, laundry person and any person who regularly performs domestic work in one household in an occupational basis.
Meanwhile, those who are not governed by the increase are service providers, family drivers and any other person who performs work occasionally oand not on an occupational basis.
