CAMP GEN. SALVADOR T. ESTRADA, KORONADAL CITY — The intensified operations by the Police Regional Office 12 (PRO12) against wanted persons and criminal elements across SOCCSKSARGEN led to the arrest of several Most Wanted Persons (MWPs) and the confiscation of illegal drugs and firearms.
In Esperanza, Sultan Kudarat, authorities arrested a Top 9 Regional Most Wanted Person, also ranked Top 1 at the provincial and municipal levels, for multiple cases of acts of lasciviousness and child abuse under RA 7610.
The arrest was carried out using an Alternative Recording Device (ARD) to ensure transparency.
A Top 10 Regional Most Wanted Person was apprehended in Alabel, Sarangani, for qualified rape of a minor, a case with no bail recommended.
Anti-drug operations in Kabacan, Cotabato, meanwhile, led to the arrest of a suspect and the confiscation of around 40 grams of suspected shabu worth P272,000, along with a cal. .38 revolver and ammunition.
In Koronadal City, another Top 10 Provincial Most Wanted Person was arrested for violation of RA 9165.
PRO12 Regional Director Brig. Gen. Arnold P. Ardiente lauded the operating units, emphasizing that these accomplishments highlight an intelligence-driven and alternative policing approach aligned with the PNP Focused Agenda of chief PNP Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr..
“We will continue to track down wanted persons, dismantle criminal networks, and sustain our anti-illegal drug operations to ensure safer communities in our area of responsibility,” Ardiente said.
The official said that arrested individuals are now under police custody, while seized evidence has been turned over for proper examination.
