MALACAÑANG on Monday announced that a total of 8,700 barangays nationwide have already been served since the rollout of the “Bawat Bayan Makikinabang” initiative, and further expansion is expected in other parts of the country under the administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr..
During a Palace press briefing, Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said President Marcos assured the public that the government remains active and responsive to Filipinos’ needs through the continued implementation of assistance programs nationwide.
“Hindi natutulog, hindi nagbabakasyon na pamahalaan…kundi nakikinig at umaaksyon,” Castro said, echoing the President’s message to the beneficiaries in Makati.
Since the launch of the initiative on February 23, 2026, the President has visited several areas, including Eastern Visayas, Cagayan Province, and the Metro Manila cities of Muntinlupa, Las Piñas, Parañaque, Pasay, Makati, and Manila.
During the program in Makati City on Monday morning, President Marcos personally visited 23 Bagong Pilipinas Barangay Scholars and distributed financial assistance amounting to P20,000 each.
In his message, the President emphasized the importance of education and the opportunities being provided to students through the government’s Socio-Civic Projects Fund Program.
The Chief Executive also led the distribution of 10 kilograms of rice to beneficiaries under the expanded Local Government Support Fund program, which aims to accelerate the delivery of assistance to communities nationwide.
President Marcos also on Monday led the “Bawat Bayan Makikinabang” rollout in Mandaluyong City.
