CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga — After more than a year of intelligence operations and coordination among several police units, a man listed as the top municipal most wanted person in Sta. Cruz, Zambales was arrested in Baguio City.
A report to Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Jess Mendez showed that the 44-year-old suspect was nabbed in Bgy. San Vicente, Baguio City.
The arrest was based on a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 70 in Iba, Zambales for parricide.
The operation was conducted jointly by personnel of the Sta. Cruz police, the Provincial Intelligence Unit of the Zambales Police Provincial Office (PIU-ZPPO), Police Station 8 of the Baguio City Police Office, and the Police Regional Office-Cordillera Administrative Region.
The suspect was accused of killing his wife who was a medical doctor, their three-month-old daughter, and their household helper in Sta. Cruz, Zambales in December 2024.
Police said the incident shocked the local community and triggered an extensive manhunt after the suspect allegedly went into hiding shortly after the killings.
Through sustained intelligence gathering and monitoring operations, authorities were able to track down the suspect’s location in Baguio City leading to his arrest.
The accused is currently under the custody of the Sta. Cruz police.
Mendez commended the operating teams for the successful arrest and emphasized the importance of inter-agency coordination in pursuing wanted persons.
“This operation reflects our commitment to ensuring that persons facing serious criminal charges are properly brought before the law. No matter how long it takes, our police units will continue to work together to locate and arrest individuals who attempt to evade justice,” the official said.
