THE Criminal Investigation and Detection Group’s (CIDG) “Oplan Pagtugis” drive has hauled to jail two most wanted persons in Tarlac.
The arrests were made during operations on May 18 and 19.
According to CIDG Regional Field Unit 3 chief Col. Grant Gollod, the first operation conducted in Bgy. Central, Quezon City led to the arrest of alias “Punsoy,” 43, a resident of Bgy. Batal, Santiago City, Isabela.
Alias “Punsoy” was caught by joint operatives from the CIDG Tarlac Provincial Field Unit headed by Lt. Col. Arvin Hosmillo, PIT-Tarlac RIU3, and the Quezon City Police Station.
The suspect was arrested based on warrants of arrest for four counts of rape.
Another operation at Sitio Bagong Barrio in Bgy. Sapang Maragul, Tarlac City resulted in the arrest of alias “Guzman,” 36, also listed as a provincial-level most wanted person.
Hosmillo said the arrest was led by the CIDG Tarlac PFU, in coordination with PIT-Tarlac RIU3, and the Tarlac City Police Station.
Suspect “Guzman” was nabbed on the strength of warrants issued by the Family Court, Regional Trial Court Branch 11 in Tarlac City for six counts of qualified rape of a minor and three counts of rape through sexual assault.
Both suspects were brought to the CIDG Tarlac PFU office for documentation and standard booking procedures.
Gollod said the CIDG operations form part of the continuing campaign against wanted persons and efforts to ensure that fugitives face the charges filed against them in court.
