SANTA MARIA, Bulacan – A fire that razed a house in Bgy. Catmon, this town left an elderly couple dead and two other family members injured.
A report to Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Jess Mendez by the Bulacan police identified the fatalities as William Sanchez, 69, an airgun smith, and his wife Imelda, 61, both residents of Kalsadang Munti, Bgy. Catmon, Santa Maria, Bulacan.
The injured were Janille Sanchez, 29, an accountant, and Christine Lourie Sanchez, 27, a teacher, who were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Responding firefighters contained the blaze.
Probers found the bodies of the couple under the debris.
Police said the house and two vehicles were totally destroyed by the blaze.
Initial investigation showed that the victims were inside the house when the fire broke out.
Fire investigator FO1 Michael John A. Mercolota said the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
