IN just four years, the Marcos administration’s projected cumulative dividend collections from government-owned or-controlled corporations (GOCCs) are expected to reach P501.431 billion by the end of 2026 or 31.15 percent higher than the P382.3 billion remitted during the entire previous administration, the Department of Finance (DOF) reported on Wednesday.
The DOF said it projects that cumulative dividend collections from government-owned o -controlled corporations (GOCCs) under the Marcos administration will reach P501.431 billion, including actual and projected remittances for 2026, which translates to an average annual dividend collection of P125.358 billion.
For 2026, total dividends amount to P147.15 billion from 50 GOCCs, with actual dividend collection of P140 billion as of July 8, 2026. The balance will be remitted by December 2026.
The P382.3 billion in total dividends collected under the Duterte administration has an annual average of P63.7 billion, based on the DOF’s record on comparative dividend collection per administration.
Under the Aquino administration, total dividends collected were at P164.8 billion, with a P27.4 billion annual average, while under the Arroyo government, the total collection was P84.1 billion, with an annual average of P9.3 billion.
All GOCCs, with some exemptions, are required to declare and remit at least 50 percent of their annual net earnings as dividends to the national coffers pursuant to Republic Act No. 7656 or the Dividend Law.
President Marcos led the GOCCs Day at Malacañang, an annual event that gives due recognition to the GOCCs’ significant dividend contributions and support for national development.
