A BOMB threat on Friday hit the University of Santo Tomas (UST) on España Boulevard in Sampaloc, Manila.
The incident prompted school authorities to suspend classes and evacuate the students and employees to safer areas.
Two bomb threat letters were discovered inside the women’s comfort room of the university’s Medicine Building.
A report from the Manila Police District (MPD) said that a student found a letter on top of a toilet tank on the fourth floor of the Medicine Building at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
Another bomb threat letter was found by a housekeeping staff on the faculty restroom at the second floor of the building.
The letters said an explosive had been planted on school premises and at the main area of the Medicine Building and St. Raymund’s Building.
The incident was immediately reported to school security and the nearest police station.
Members of the MPD Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Canine Unit scoured the building and found no explosive.
Police declared the premises clear of bombs and other hazardous devices at 7:55 p.m. of the same day.
