CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – A provincewide anti-criminality drive by the police from October 23 to 24 has sent to jail Nueva Ecija’s top wanted felon and several drug suspects.
The operations, conducted by the Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office (NEPPO) under the leadership of Col. Ritchie Claravall, were implemented through the Joint Police-BPAT Mobilization (JBM) Patrol System under the supervision of Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jess Mendez.
Police tracker teams from Gapan City arrested the No. 3 most wanted person in Negros Oriental facing acts of lasciviousness charges.
A series of buy-bust operations by the Cabanatuan City police drug enforcement units resulted in the arrest of seven drug suspects.
The operations also led to the arrest of two suspects for acts of lasciviousness, two for libel, one for alleged violations of tax laws, two for illegal gambling, and one each for estafa and violation of a city ordinance.
The anti-drug operations resulted in the seizure of illegal drugs valued at more than P79,000.
The campaign against loose firearms and illicit cigarettes resulted in the confiscation of nine firearms, an improvised shotgun locally known as sumpak, and 25 reams of illicit cigarettes.
Some firearms were voluntarily surrendered by commercial establishments and gun owners for temporary safekeeping, while others were confiscated during police operations.
Mobile tactical maneuver platoons from the 1st and 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Companies (PMFCs) also maintained route security and border control checkpoints to support police units across the province.
The 1st PMFC covered Cabanatuan City, Gapan City, Cabiao and Zaragoza, while the 2nd PMFC operated in Lupao, Carranglan, Guimba and Talavera.
According to Claravall, the anti-crime operations were reinforced by various police initiatives, including campus security deployments under “Ligtas Eskwela,” nighttime visibility patrols under “Oplan Kutitap,” vehicle inspections under “Oplan Sita,” area searches under” Oplan Galugad,” and public safety announcements under “Oplan Bandillo.”
The provincial police said the coordinated operations were aimed at strengthening law enforcement, preventing criminal activities and maintaining peace and order throughout Nueva Ecija.
