OVER 100 Chinese nationals arrested in separate major raids on scam hubs in Zamboanga Sibugay and Quezon City in October were deported on Friday by the Bureau of Immigration (BI).
The deportees boarded a chartered China Southern Airlines flight CZ5308 bound for China from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 in Pasay City at 10 a.m. Friday.
According to the BI, the deportees, consisting of 62 individuals arrested in Zamboanga Sibugay and 53 in Cubao, Quezon City, were flown to China following the issuance of Summary Deportation Orders by the BI Board of Commissioners.
The arrest in Mindanao was conducted on Oct. 2 while the Metro Manila operation was launched on Oct. 12.
Immigration Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado said the deportation underscores the BI’s commitment to ensuring that foreign nationals involved in illegal activities face the consequences of their actions.
Viado ensured relentless operations and coordination with local and international law enforcement partners to combat illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) operations, online scams, and other transnational crimes.
