A ROAD rage incident on Holy Thursday in Palayan City, Nueva Ecija left a student dead, police on Monday said.
In a report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo, the Nueva Ecija police identified the victim as Ken Andrei Garcia, a 23-year-old student residing in Bgy. Padre Crisostomo, Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija.
Prior to the shooting, the victim and his relatives were in a gray van travelling to Palayan City proper.
Upon approaching a curve portion on the Nueva Ecija-Dingalan road in Bgy. Imelda Valley, a man in a black sando driving a motorcycle, with a female backrider, suddenly appeared causing the van to suddenly stop.
An argument ensued between the two groups until the motorcycle driver pulled out a gun and shot the victim in the abdomen.
Garcia was rushed to the Dr. PJG Hospital but was declared dead upon arrival.
The gunman and his female companion fled after the shooting.
The duo are now being hunted by the police.
