AN activated alarm system on Sunday played a crucial role in the arrest of a man robbing a gadget stall in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga.
In a report to Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr., the Pampanga police said arrested was alias Aman, 19, of Bgy. Pandan, Angeles City, Pampanga.
Alias “Zala,” alias “Copan,” and alias “Abul” were able to escape.
The victim was identified as stall owner Angelo Tecmon, 25, of Bgy. Dolores, City of San Fernando.
An investigation showed the suspects entered the premises by cutting the mesh wire using a bolt cutter then proceeded to Stall 106, destroyed the padlock of the roll up door then took the four cellphones worth at least P181,000.
However, the alarm installed at the vault connected to the cellular phones of the victim was triggered, prompting the owner to monitor the CCTV footage and saw the ongoing robbery.
The stall owner immediately sought police’ help, which resulted in the arrest of alias “Aman” while the other three suspects escaped with their getaway vehicle.
A flash alarm was sent to nearby police units for the possible apprehension of the suspects.
