CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga — An alleged gang member and tagged as the no. 2 most wanted person in Leyte province on Monday was arrested in Bulacan.
In a report to Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr., the Bulacan police said suspect alias “Idoy,” 32, a construction worker from Cananga, Leyte, was taken into custody by a tracker team composed of personnel from the Bustos police, Bulacan Police Intelligence Unit, and the Regional Intelligence Unit 8.
Alias “Idoy,” who was found to be currently residing in Bgy. Bundukan, Bocaue, Bulacan, is facing a string of warrants for murder, all with no bail recommended, stemming from multiple cases in the province of Leyte.
The suspect’s arrest marked a significant blow to the operations of the criminal gang group operating in Eastern Visayas, allegedly involved in multiple violent crimes.
Peñones lauded the operating teams and emphasized the importance of sustained intelligence-sharing across regions.
“This successful arrest demonstrates the power of inter-regional collaboration and relentless police work. We will not allow Central Luzon to be a safe haven for fugitives. The long arm of the law will always catch up with those who try to run from justice,” the Central Luzon top cop said.
