CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga— An entrapment operation on Friday resulted in the arrest of a high-value individual and the confiscation of more than P749,000 worth of marijuana and its by-products in Mabalacat City.
In a report to Pampanga police director Col. Eugene M. Marcelo, Mabalacat City police chief Lt. Col. Efren David identified the arrested suspect as alias “Jim,” 27, of Bgy. Sapang Biabas, Mabalacat City.
Operatives of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of the Mabalacat City Police Station launched the entrapment, which led to the arrest of the suspect, and the confiscation of at least 2,121 grams of dried marijuana leaves worth P464,839, some 140 grams of Kush valued at P231,000, and 12 marijuana-infused vape cartridges worth P54,000.
PRO3 director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr. commended the operating unit.
“This successful operation reflects our commitment to the chief PNP’s three pillars, particularly swift and responsive public service, the arrest of a high-value drug personality and the recovery of substantial quantities of illegal drugs. This demonstrates our continuing efforts to protect our communities from the dangers of drug abuse and criminality,” the Central Luzon top cop said.
The arrested suspect is now under the custody of the Mabalacat City police and will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
