LTO SETS MOTORCYCLE PLATE DISTRIBUTION CARAVAN IN CALABARZON

IN line with the instruction of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos, Jr. to expedite the release of license plates, the Land Transportation Office (LTO), under the leadership of Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Vince Dizon, has partnered with management of popular malls for plate distribution.

LTO chief, Assistant Secretary Vigor D. Mendoza II said the plate distribution in malls is aimed at ensuring that all its clients would be comfortable as they finally get their license plates.

“We express sincere gratitude to all mall managements, especially from SM Supermalls and Robinsons for their unwavering support to the LTO on this specific goal. Malaking tulong ang kanilang kooperasyon sa ating layunin na maging komportable at mabilis ang plate distribution,” said Mendoza.

“I also laud all our personnel, especially in our regional and district offices, for making these partnerships possible. Ito ay patunay na nagkakaisa ang lahat sa LTO family na mapabilis ang proseso,” he added.

The plate distribution covers motorcycle plates from 2014 to 2017.

Mendoza, however, reminded motorists to bring all the necessary documents to avoid inconvenience and ensure a fast distribution process.

Among the requirements are the original and photocopy of OR/CR, valid ID of the registered owner, and deed of sale if the motorcycle is not yet registered under the name of the claimants.

“We also want to remind our clients that this plate distribution caravan only covers motorcycle plates,” said  Mendoza.

The plate distribution is being conducted nationwide after the LTO finally wiped out the 11-year motorcycle plate backlog involving millions of plates.
