DINALUPIHAN, Bataan — Car-riding assassins on Tuesday shot dead a 29-year-old man and wounded his partner in Bgy. San Simon, this town.
A report to Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr. by the Bataan police identified the fatality as John Christopher dela Cruz, 29, of Purok Pag-asa, Bgy. Pagalanggang, while the wounded was Winchelle Chan Gonzales, 27.
The shooting occurred at Purok 4 in Bgy. San Simon.
Initial investigation showed that authorities received a phone call reporting a shooting incident.
Responding lawmen found the victims bloodied on the road and with gunshot wounds.
Dela Cruz was declared dead on the spot while Gonzales was rushed to the JC Payumo District Hospital for treatment.
Witnesses told probers that the gunmen, who fled on a green Honda Fit car after the attack, were wearing bonnets, black long sleeves, and red T-shirts.
An investigation is ongoing into the motive for the shooting.
Authorities are conducting pursuit and dragnet operations for the suspects’ arrest.
